Direct Printing to Garment (DTG)

Direct to garment printing, also known as DTG printing, digital garment printing and inkjet to garment printing, is a process of printing on textiles and garments using specialized or modified inkjet technology. The two key requirements of a DTG printer are a transport mechanism for the garment and specialty inks (inkjet textile inks) that are applied to the textile directly and are absorbed by the fibers.

Some direct to garment printers are manufactured from pre-existing inkjet printers, namely Epson, Brother, and Anajet, but other companies, such as Kornit, Mimaki, and Durst have printers specially designed for fabric printing.

with exceptions where DTG printers have been built using lower-resolution industrial inkjet print heads like those found in large-format printers used to print signs and banners. Some inkjet technology manufacturers offer products designed for direct textile printing, providing heads, printers and inks. Direct to garment printers boast the largest print area and lowest ink cost of any tabletop inkjet to garment printer.

The resolution and speed of the inkjet printers have been increased greatly over the last 10 years. This development has resulted in fast development of digital textile printing.

Sublimation inkjet printing is the major technology used in digital textile printing. As most fabrics are polyester or polyester-mixed, sublimation inkjet printing is widely used in digital textile printing. Since traditional screen printing costs more in terms of labor, digital textile printing, especially sublimation inkjet printing, is now becoming more and more popular in USA and Europe.

The majority of DTG printers are driven from a computer by the use of software known as a RIP (Raster Image Processor). The RIP software allows the printer to print with larger volumes of ink, generate white ink underbases for dark shirts and also provides for more precision color management through color profiles. More advanced RIP software allows for driving multiple printers from one computer, advanced job queuing, ink cost calculation as well as a real time preview of the file prior to printing.

Direct to garment printers can cost from $11,000 to over $200,000 depending on their print size, production capability as well as make and model.

A primary advantage of DTG printing is the lack of set-up costs and instant turnaround time not associated with traditional garment printing methods such as screen printing. The disadvantage of DTG is maintenance and ink cost. Furthermore, the ink technology developments have significantly improved ink performance and lowered ink cost. Digital printing technologies are non-contact, meaning that media is printed on without hand contact, allowing for a more precise image. This prevents the image distortion that takes place in screen printing.[1]

Maite Perroni Beorlegui (born March 9, 1983)^[1] is a Mexican actress and singer/songwriter, who is best known for starring in Rebelde, Cuidado con el Ángel, Mi Pecado and Triunfo del Amor. She gained international fame as a member of the Latin Grammy nominated pop groupRBD. Univision named Maite Perroni as the new Queen of the Telenovelas in 2009.^[2]

Maite Perroni Beorlegui was born in Mexico City but she grew up in Guadalajara, until the age of 12,when her family moved back again in Mexico City.^[3] She has two siblings, Adolfo and Francisco, who are three and nine years younger than she is.^[4]

Perroni studied acting at Televisa's Centro de Educación Artistica (CEA) in the year 2000, completing two years of a three year course.

Career

Perroni made her acting debut in Rebelde, a remake of the acclaimed Argentinean novela Rebelde Way. She portrayed Guadalupe "Lupita" Fernández, a teenage girl from a lower class family who gets the opportunity to study at the fictitious Elite Way School. Rebelde ran from 2004 to 2006, filming 440 episodes.

Following the success of Rebelde, in 2007, Televisa released RBD: La Familia, which starred the members of RBD. The characters of thesitcom were not based on the band's characters in Rebelde, but intended to be similar to the actors' real personalities. RBD: La Familia was the first Mexican show shot entirely in high definition and ran from March 14, 2007 to June 13, 2007, and only lasted 13 episodes.

In 2008, Maite starred as the lead character in Cuidado con el Ángel, opposite William Levy. The show had great success around the world. She starred in her second leading role in Mi Pecado opposite Eugenio Siller. She was part of the third season of Mujeres Asesinas in the sixth episode called Las Blanco, Viudas along with Diana Bracho, Luz Maria Aguilar, and Mark Tacher.

In 2010, Perroni was confirmed to star with her previous co-star, William Levy, in Triunfo del Amor, a remake of the Venezuelan classicCristal.

Perroni was a member of the popular band RBD, which was launched off of the success of the telenovela most seen for years Rebelde. To date, RBD has made 9 studio albums, including albums in Spanish, Portuguese and English. They have sold over 15 million albums worldwide, and have embarked on various international tours including shows throughout Latin America and Europe.

Maite composed Tal Vez Mañana, for RBD's fourth Spanish language album, Empezar Desde Ceroand sang solo on the title track for the album.

On August 8, 2008, RBD released a message telling fans that they had decided to split up. They went on one final tour, Gira Del Adios World Tour, which ended in early 2009. Perroni was absent part of the tour, due to her filming of Cuidado con el Ángel.^[5]

For her role in Cuidado con el Ángel, Perroni recorded three songs for the show called Esta Soledad,Separada de Ti, and Contigo.^[6]

She recorded a song with Reik, entitled Mi Pecado, which was used as the opening song for the telenovela, Mi Pecado.^[7]

On July 17, 2010, Perroni released her new single "No Vuelvas", which was featured on an EP she released for her Brazilian Pocket Show performances, on her website MaiteMVP.com.^[8]

She recorded a song with Marco di Mauro called "A Partir de Hoy" which forms part of the musical soundtrack of the telenovela Triunfo del Amor, her third lead role.^[9]

Perroni was engaged to Guido Laris, the musical director for RBD, but the pair split, in August 2008.^[10] On November 2010, she officially announced she was dating singer and composer Mane de la Parra.^[11]^[12]

William Levy (born William Levy Gutiérrez on August 29, 1980^[1]) is a Cuban-American actor and former model.

Levy was born in Cojimar, Cuba.^[1] He is of Jewish ancestry on his paternal grandfather's side.^[3]Levy emigrated to Miami, Florida, when he was 14. He attended high school, after which he studied business administration on a baseball scholarship. He subsequently went to Los Angeles to study acting and continued his acting studies in Miami and Mexico City.^[4]^[5]

Levy worked as a model for the agency Next Models and was featured later in two reality shows broadcast by Telemundo: Isla de la Tentación and Protagonistas de Novela 2.^[6] In 2005 he performed at the Centro de Bellas Artes in San Juan Puerto Rico, starring in the play La Nena Tiene Tumbao.

His first debut on the Spanish language channel Univision was in the Venevision International production of Olvidarte Jamas. He later appeared in Mi Vida Eres Tu and Acorralada.

In 2008, he appeared in his first film Retazos de Vida directed by Viviana Cordero.

He was invited by television producer Carla Estrada to star in Pasión, his breakthrough in Mexican soap operas. His performance was so well received that Televisa later cast him as the lead in Cuidado con el Angel with actress and ex-RBD singer Maite Perroni.^[7] The show was first broadcast in Mexico in June 2008 and began airing in the United States in September 2008 on Univision. It averaged 45.7 million viewers per evening.^[8]

Levy finished filming Sortilegio with actress Jacqueline Bracamontes on October 9, 2009.^[9] Sortilegio aired on Univision, and the finale drew 6.6 million viewers, beating ABC and CBS.^[10]

In November 2009, the actor lent his voice to the animated movie Planet 51 in its Spanish version.^[11] The movie opened on November 27 in Mexico and won an award for best animated Spanish-language film of 2009 (Premios Goya).^[12] From November 2009 to February 2010, Levy toured several Mexican cities with the play Un Amante a la Medida,^[13] which later toured in the United States in June 2010.

Levy is currently shooting the Mexican telenovela Triunfo del Amor, a remake of the Venezuelan classic Cristal, in which he once again shares credits with Maite Perroni. The telenovela aired on October, 25, 2010 in El Canal de las Estrellas. Pedro Torres, executive producer ofMujeres Asesinas, confirmed Levy's role in the third season of the popular Mexican series.

Levy stars as Jennifer Lopez's love interest in her music video I'm Into You, from her album Love?. It aired on the NBC Today Show on May 2, 2011.^[14]^[15]

Levy and Maite Perroni co-hosted the 25th Hispanic Heritage Awards gala on September 15, 2011, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.^[16]

In 2003, he began a relationship with Mexican-American actress Elizabeth Gutiérrez. The two met during their participation on Protagonistas de Novela 2. In 2006, they had a son, Christopher Alexander. On March 6, 2010, Gutierrez gave birth to a daughter, Kailey Alexandra.^[13]^[18]In press releases issued in May 2011, Levy and Gutierrez announced they had ended their 8-year relationship.^[2]

On July 11, 2009, Levy converted to Catholicism.^[19]^[20]

On August 17, 2010, a female minor filed a lawsuit against Levy in Los Angeles alleging that Levy had sexually abused her.^[21] Levy has denied the allegations and countersued for $10 million alleging extortion and defamation.^[22]

Google Doodle today celebrates the 125th birth anniversary of legendary Mexican painter Diego Rivera. Born on December 8, 1886, in Guanajuato, Mexico, Rivera's large wall works in fresco are believed to have helped establish the Mexican Mural Movement.

Diego Rivera joined Academy of San Carlos in Mexico City at the age of ten to study art. Later he moved to Europe where he initially studied in Madrid, Spain, and from there went to Paris, France, to live and work with the artists in Montparnasse.

A communist, Diego Rivera was greatly inspired by the political ideals of the Mexican Revolution (1914-15) and the Russian Revolution (1917). Through his art, he sought to reflect the lives of the working class and native people of Mexico.

Under a government programme in 1921, he started a series of murals in public buildings. During 1930s and 1940s, Diego Rivera painted several murals in the United States. Some of his works also created controversy. One of his mural made in CA building in New York City, known as Man at the Crossroads, featuring a portrait of Russian communist leader Vladimir Lenin, was destroyed.

In 1929, Diego Rivera married artist Frida Kahlo, who was some 20 years his junior. The two divorced in 1939, only to remarry later.

Google Doodles are the decorative changes that are made to the Google logo to celebrate holidays, anniversaries, and the lives of famous artists and scientists. The first Google Doodle was created by Larry Page and Sergy Brin Google in the year 1998 to mark the celebrations of the Burning Man Festival. Google currently has over 1000 Doodles.
